2 Anna Bullard (Elizabeth Jelkes) performed in the Humana Festival premieres of Kia Corthron’s Moot the Messenger and Uncle Sam’s Satiric Spectacular, as well as in Dracula and 2B (or not 2B) for Actors Theatre of Louisville. Other regional credits include Blackbird at American Conservatory Theater (Una u/s), Ambition Facing West at TheatreWorks and The Mousetrap and Nunsense for Dorset Theatre Festival. In the Bay Area, her credits include Lee Sankowich’s production of Killer Joe at Marin Theatre Company, The Hopper Collection at Magic Theatre and Enchanted April with Porchlight Theatre Company. She received her BA in English and Theatre from Whitman College and trained as an Acting Apprentice at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Ms. Bullard sends special thanks to her guides along the path.

 

1 Stephen D’Ambrose (Edward Hyde, Sir Danvers Carew, Richard Enfield, O.F. Sanderson, Inspector) is making his San Jose Repertory Theatre debut. He recently completed a production of Our Town as Doc Gibbs at Two River Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey. Other recent appearances include Cardinal Antonelli in Edgardo Mine at Guthrie Theater and Molly’s Delicious at Arizona Theatre Company. Nationally, he has toured with the Guthrie Theater’s Great Expectations, The Tavern and A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well as with Jungle Theater’s The Pavilion. Mr. D’Ambrose lives in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota and has worked at most of the theaters there. His regional credits include, To Kill a Mockingbird, Diary of Anne Frank, Sherlock Holmes, Quills, The Tempest and Democracy. His film credits include “Sweet Land,” “The Cure,” “Trauma,” “Herman USA,” “A Christmas Carol” and “Midnight Chronicles”. He was awarded a McKnight Artist’s Fellowship in 2000.

3 Alan Kaiser (Orderly) makes his San Jose Repertory Theatre debut with this production of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Mr. Kaiser has worked regionally with Berkeley Repertory Theater in Mother Courage and California Shakespeare Theater in Man and Superman. Mr. Kaiser is a cast member of the ongoing Pier 39 show, Tony ’n Tina’s Wedding, and performs as one half of the corporate entertainment show, Biohazard. Other Bay Area theatre credits include Death of a Salesman and House of Blue Leaves with the Actor’s Theatre of San Francisco, A
Midsummer Night’s Dream
with Busbarn Theatre, and the world premiere of Keep the Yuletide Gay with Theatre Q. Mr. Kaiser’s most recent theater project is behind the scenes as producer with the Wolf Workshop, the aim of which is producing new works generated in the Bay Area. He can be seen in the feature films “The Valley of Fear,” “Two Weeks to Enlightenment,” and the soon-to-be-released “The 421.” Most recently, Mr. Kaiser was seen on KTEH’s Video-i in the award-winning short film, “Character Driven.” Mr. Kaiser is a proud graduate of the Foothill Theatre Conservatory and a current member of both Theatre Bay Area and the Equity Membership Candidacy Program.

credits include Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde at Arizona Theatre Company, A Streetcar Named Desire at Marin Theatre Company, After the War at American Conservatory Theatre, The Joan Rivers Theatre Project and Charles Grodin’s The Right Kind of People at Magic Theatre, Small Tragedy and Betrayal at Aurora Theatre Company, The Mousetrap, How the Other Half Loves (Shellie Award, Best Actress), Picasso at the Lapin Agile and Becoming Memories at Center REPertory Theatre, and various productions for A.C.T.’s First Look series, The Shee Theatre Company, Woman’s Will, Word for Word, and Shakespeare Santa Cruz. Film credits include “Presque Isle” (Rob Nilsson) and “Opal’s Diary” (Dina Ciraulo). She holds a master’s degree in educational theater from New York University and is the cofounder of StageWrite, Building Literacy through Theatre.

1 Danielle Perata (Orderly) has performed with various theatre companies in the Bay Area. Recent credits include Murph in the West Coast premiere of The American Bar with Harley
Brown’s Café, and Mary-Gert in the North American premiere of Holding the Man at New Conservatory Theatre Center. She has also worked with California Conservatory Theatre as
Mona-Then in Come Back to the Five & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean and Louise in Private Lives, Asian American Theatre Company as Julie in Walls, and Impact Theatre Company as Kathy 1 in Money & Run Episode 4: Go Straight, No Chaser. Ms. Perata studies acting with Billie Shepard and holds a B.A. in theatre arts from Santa Clara University.

 

1 Mark Anderson Phillips (Edward Hyde, Dr. H. K. Lanyon, Police Doctor, Surgical Student) is pleased to be back at the Rep, where he was seen in Long Day’s Journey Into Night (Jamie Tyrone) and Major Barbara (Stephen Undershaft). Other recent credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Bottom), How the Other Half Loves (Frank- Shellie Award, best actor), and The Mousetrap (Giles) with Center Rep. At TheatreWorks, his favorite roles
include Theophilus North (Theophilus), Grapes of Wrath (Tom Joad - Bay Area Critics Circle Award, best actor), Proof (Hal), The Cripple of Inishmaan (BobbyBobby), Arcadia (Chater), and Charley’s Aunt (Jack). At the Magic, he’s been seen in Edna O’Brien’s Family Butchers (Teddy), Stones in his Pockets (Jake - Bay Area Critics Circle Award, best actor), and True West (Austin). Other Bay Area credits include Stories By Tobias Wolff and Cannery Row with Word for Word, The Last Schwartz at Marin Theatre Company, Salome (Iokanaan) and Small Tragedy (Nate) at Aurora Theatre Company, The Beaux’ Strategem at Berkeley Rep, Measure for Measure and Henry V at California Shakespeare Theatre, and The Dazzle (u.s. Langley) at American Conservatory Theatre.

1 Ken Ruta (Edward Hyde, Gabriel Utterson) was last seen at San Jose Rep in The Underpants. Other Rep productions include Las Meninas, Amy’s View and Later Life. He recently received the Bay Area Critics Circle Award for his 2007 performance in TheatreWorks’ Trying and American Conservatory Theatre’s The Circle. Ruta was an original company member of San Francisco’s ACT (close to 60 productions as actor/director/teacher), Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park and Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theatre (over 40 productions). He is an Associate Artist of San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre and has enjoyed a quarter century relationship with the Arizona Theatre Company. He has appeared in all of the media, including grand opera, and has appeared in the Broadway productions of Inherit the Wind, Separate Tables, Duel of Angles, Ross, Three Sisters and The Elephant Man.

1 R. Hamilton Wright (Dr. Henry Jekyll), a native of Seattle, has been a professional actor for over thirty years. In that time he has appeared in over 125 professional productions. Some of his favorites include Stuff Happens, Red Noses, The End of the World and Bach at Leipzig at ACT Theatre in Seattle; My Uncle Sam at the Public Theatre, New York; Scapin and The Mystery of Irma Vep at the Arizona Theatre Company; The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Inspecting Carol, The Miser and True West at The Seattle Repertory Theatre; Loot, Smash and The Servant of Two Masters at Intiman Theatre, Seattle; and School for Clowns, Angel City and Hanging Lord Haw Haw at the Empty Space Theatre, may it rest in peace. Mr. Wright directed Stephen Temperly’s Souvenir earlier this season and is thrilled to be back at the San Jose Rep, this time as an actor.
