Michael Faulkner (Professor; Additional Material), an accomplished, classically trained actor before joining the RSC in 2001, also produces two podcasts: Amanda Banana, the Obsessive Dogwalker, starring his lovely wife (amandabanana.net), and the 2007 Best Political Podcast Award-Nominated Hawke & Dove Political Punditry Podcast (hawkeanddove.com) in which he also performs. Hawke and Dove put the pun back in punditry.
Reed Martin (Coach; Co-Author/Director) was drawn to theatre because it gave him a good excuse to sleep late. Sadly, his sons are early risers. Reed’s a graduate of UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, Umpire Training School and Clown College. Prior to joining the RSC in ’89, he was a clown with Ringling Brothers where he spent two years frightening children and smelling of elephants. Reed feels strongly toilet paper should be fed over the top of the roll.
Dustin Sullivan (Dustin...that’s it, just Dustin) joined the RSC for its 2007 Irish tour after two non-RSC Books in St. Louis and Ithaca. But he’s not particularly funny. Seriously, ask anyone. In 2003 he conducted a phone survey asking a randomly selected group of 500 “tweenagers” how amusing they thought his jokes were. The result? An average of .005 laughs (or “violent exhalations”) per joke, with a margin of error of +/- 2 chuckles.
Austin Tichenor (Professor; Co-Author/Director) is a fifth-generation San Franciscan born on the 54th anniversary of the 1906 Earthquake, which makes him older than he looks but short for his weight. His numerous TV jobs include recurring roles on “24” and “Alias,” as well as guest starring roles on “Nip/Tuck,” “CSI: Miami,” “The West Wing,” and shows like them. He lives in Los Angeles, where he’s hard at work on three screenplays, a novel, and his wife.
